MODERN ARNIS PROGRAM
Professor Remy Presas use to refer to Modern Arnis as the "Art within your art." He did not care what style your base art was, just that you could take what you already knew and add arnis to it. This is just what we have done here at Handwerker Martial Arts. We have taken the basics of Modern Arnis and incorporated it into our school curriculum. In addition we also hold a separate class specifically dedicated to the study of Modern Arnis.
Modern Arnis is a flavor of Filipino Stick Fighting (Stick Fighting) perfected and promoted by Professor Remy Presas. You can go HERE for a deeper history on the art.

- Self-Defense with and against the stick/cane
- Empty hand defense against the stick/cane
- Cane/Stick disarming
- Cane/Stick and Empty hand drills
- Joint Locks
- Takedowns
- Anyo (forms)
